About Aaron Davenport

Aaron Davenport has always been a writer, in one form or another — poems scratched out on the back of receipts, half-finished songs, the odd stray thought that refused to let him go. But it took a real loss to point him toward something bigger.

When Aaron’s father passed away, he found himself circling an idea he couldn’t put down: a novel — not a memoir — that explored his father’s profession and the quiet, complicated ways it rippled outward into the people who loved him. He started writing toward that story directly, but some truths sit too close to face head-on, and the project began to shift shape beneath him. What began as an attempt to understand his father became something else entirely: a story about buried history, inherited burdens, and the family we’re bound to protect no matter the cost. That reshaping is where The World Beneath Memory was born.

The novel still carries the emotional DNA of where it started. A family holding something they can’t fully explain. Characters who protect the people they love by keeping secrets from them. The cost of finally letting a hidden truth surface. It’s a dark fantasy on the surface — but underneath, it’s a book about inheritance, loyalty, and the weight the people we love carry without always showing it.

Aaron is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, and now lives in Kingston Springs, Tennessee, where he continues to write.
